Holly and Cory moved into their Las Vegas ranch-style home over 10 years ago, when their four kids were very young. Now, as the kids become teenagers, the family’s needs are changing, and the house needs to change with them. We gave their home a tune-up and transformed the kitchen, dining room, family room and music room, giving this family band a Forever Home to sing about.

DESIGN HIGHLIGHTS
THE BEAMS ARE REAL TO US
Holly tried to qualify her love of the inspiration home’s faux beams by acknowledging they served “no purpose” other than design. But they did serve a purpose, and a really important one: helping a family comfortable in a home they loved. So, we ran beams the length of the living, dining and kitchen area to give Holly exactly what she wanted. Isn’t that what a Forever Home’s all about?
PARTY OF FIVE, 15, 50 …
Holly and Cory have a big family to begin with, and they wanted a Forever Home that felt cozier the more people who were there. We gave them an extra-large island and an expanded dining table that will ensure everyone has a seat with their name on it. Family members, kids’ friends, neighbors — bring ’em in!
BUT WHO’S KEEPING SCORE?
A major component of any game room: a custom scoreboard to keep everyone honest (and to help the mathematically challenged among us). If that level of organization weren’t enough, we also labeled the kids’ baskets in the storage/closet nook. (We might be a little too neat sometimes.)
