See Drew and Jonathan’s Spooky Halloween Decorations at Their Homes
Who’s ready for some bewitching Halloween house tours?
Drew and Jonathan have always gone all-out for Halloween, even as kids. And now that they’re adults, they can get even more creative with the holiday—especially the decor. As a treat (no tricks!) for all of you, we’re sharing an exclusive look at Drew and Jonathan’s Halloween decorations right here!
Drew and Linda’s Halloween Decorations
Let’s stop by Drew and Linda’s house first. Warning: Only the brave dare enter. You’ll notice in the video above that his display looks like a professional setup. But we’ve got a spooky secret for you: His haunted house came together with two easy-to-install tech hacks.
The first is LED smart string lights from Twinkly. He wove them into his bushes and trees and chose Halloween shades like purple and orange to set the perfect eerie scene. Drew’s a big fan of smart lights because they’re super-simple to install and you can control them from your phone. This also makes the seasonal switch easier: All he has to do to transition from Halloween to Christmas is change the lights’ colors on his app. It’s so easy, it’s scary.
Drew’s next move was to design a realistic Halloween display using a Luxedo projector, which allows you to create high-definition, 3D projections. Drew, Linda, Parker, and Piper are going as Where the Wild Things Are characters, which inspired Drew to choose a haunted forest theme. He teamed up with his friend Ryan at FX Projections on the videos for the light show, which includes flashes of lightning, flying bats, creepy-crawly spiders, ghoulish ghosts, and more. (The company also has affordable premade videos for the holidays, should you be interested in a projector show of your own this year.) Though Drew did want to make it on the scarier side, he had to find a nice balance so that Parker wouldn’t be too afraid. He pulled it off, don’t you think?

Halloween at Jonathan and Zooey’s House
Now, let’s take a little trip to Jonathan and Zooey’s house! Jonathan (aka Wolverine) describes himself as the “Griswold of Halloween” since he saves his decorations and every year the display grows bigger and bigger. Which means this year’s Halloween was more epic than ever!
Jonathan and Zooey—who dressed up as a Real Housewife of Salt Lake City—enjoyed their festive Halloween setup with friends and family. Jonathan layered in inflatables like spooky archways, bouncy houses, and black cats for a playful backdrop that everyone could enjoy.
For the table centerpieces, he grouped colorful pumpkins and flameless candles for a stunning (and kid-safe!) scene. Bonus: If you try this look at home, these pieces are versatile enough to work for Thanksgiving, too. Nothing better than double-duty decor!
Let’s not forget about the snacks like a chips and salsa bar, donuts, and an ice cream cart.
He also had a photo booth with Halloween props so everyone could capture the memories. Here’s a hack: If you’re hosting your own monster bash, you can easily set up a DIY photo booth with an instant camera and a few items from the closet or costumes’ past.

But the biggest hurdle Jonathan had this year? “I was challenged by my 9-year-old to do an actual scary haunted house, and I’m absolutely pulling it off,” he says. That’s an understatement—just check out what he put together in the video tour above!
He created multiple zones with tons of spooky highlights, like an entryway with a haunted organ (he had to do something musical for Zooey!); a section with a sarcophagus, snake, and mummies; a creepy clown area; and a mad scientist workshop. While it may not be up to code, that house certainly is haunted.
“When you’re obsessed with Halloween and you’re a builder, you gotta build a haunted house,” he says.
This guy totally agrees:
