Drew and Jonathan have been busy this year! Between the Celebrity IOU seasons, the premiere of Backed By The Bros, plus the welcoming of baby Piper and so much more, there’s been a lot going on. And they’re not stopping now! In fact, they have another new TV show coming out—and soon. Don’t Hate Your House with the Property Brothers is premiering next month, and we’ve got the scoop on everything you need to know, including where to watch, the premiere date, and what it’s all about.
One thing’s for sure: You won’t want to miss a minute. The makeovers are beautiful, the stories are touching, and it gets more personal than ever. That’s right: Drew and Jonathan are renovating their parents’ house and it’s a Property Brothers special like you’ve never seen before. So without further ado, here’s what to know about Don’t Hate Your House.
When Does Don’t Hate Your House Premiere?
Don’t Hate Your House with the Property Brothers premieres on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 9:00 PM ET/PT. It will air on HGTV, as well as MAX and discovery+. In Drew and Jonathan’s new series, the Bros will help families renovate their houses, transforming spaces that seem completely unfixable into shockingly gorgeous (and finally functional) homes.
Sometimes, moving just isn’t an option…no matter how much your place is stressing you out. In this new series, Drew and Jonathan fix problematic homes for frustrated families who are nearly ready to call it quits. The Bros will help them amplify their functionality, floor plans, and systems to completely overhaul their existing properties. And hopefully along the way, also relieve the anxiety caused by dysfunctional builds.
“We get the frustration because oftentimes the original layout found in older houses doesn’t make the best use of the space,” Jonathan says. “Drew and I know we can make these homes so much better.”
What is Don’t Hate Your House About?
The six-episode season will follow Drew and Jonathan as they meet with their clients to discuss what’s upsetting them most about their homes. From there, they’ll come up with a plan to tackle these issues and craft a new space to address their clients’ needs and wants. With a range of budgets, design preferences, and structural issues to fix, in each episode the Bros will be tearing down walls, reconfiguring kitchens, rebuilding unsafe problem areas, and a whole lot more.
“We see the potential when we walk in and find boxy layouts and isolated spaces,” Drew says. “Transforming a home to truly suit a family’s needs will create a better environment and happier home life for everyone.”
Of course, a home is still a home, no matter how bad the build. Along the way, Drew and Jonathan will also help families through the emotional process, providing encouragement as they help renovate spaces that might hold a soft space in their heart, carry family memories, or hold sentimental value.
A Sneak Peek at the First Episode
In the season one premiere of Don’t Hate Your House, we’ll meet Johnny and Jackie. This couple loves the size and location of their home in Los Angeles, but really aren’t fans of the cramped layout. With a young son and five rescue dogs on their hands, to say they need a refreshed layout would be an understatement! They need a space that feels more functional. They’ll rely on the Bros to help reconfigure the home with an open concept, including a big sliding door, plenty of natural light, and easier access to their backyard. They’ll also help redesign the kitchen and laundry room to better fit their needs.
Each episode of Don’t Hate Your House with the Property Brothers will be available to stream the same day and time on discovery+: Wednesdays at 9:00 PM ET/PT beginning on November 13. You can also stream the following day MAX.
Until the series premieres, you can catch up on all of the Bros’ shows on MAX and discovery+. You can also get inspired by our recaps for Backed By The Bros, Property Brothers: Forever Home, Brother vs. Brother, and Celebrity IOU, too.
