Actress, producer and director Cheryl Hines wanted to thank her former assistant and nanny, Sarita, by gifting her a life-changing home renovation. Cheryl and Sarita have known each other for 20 years and, although Sarita started as Cheryl’s assistant, she turned into a close friend as well as a nanny for her daughter Katherine. As a wife and mom of two, Sarita needed a better work-from-home environment and space to host guests.

Design Highlights
A Staycation in Your Backyard
Since Sarita works from home, it was important to give her an area where she could work without getting distracted by her kids or other household chores. Plus, when her parents visit, she can pull down a Murphy bed and transform the space into a guest room.
Drama and Flair
When it came to designing the bathroom, Cheryl knew exactly what Sarita would want wanted. From the patterned tile to the star-shaped light fixture, each feature adds a splash of drama to the room while remaining modern and functional.
Get Out and Get Together
Sarita loves the outdoors, and because there wouldn’t be much need for a driveway without a garage anymore, we decided to set up a nice lounging space outside. With comfy seating, a warm firepit, and gorgeous landscaping, the entire family can gather around and roast s’mores whenever they want.
